About BYEI
Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI) is a youth nonprofit organisation working to raise awareness about the ongoing ecological and climate crisis and inspire youth environmental actions to protect and improve the life-supporting nature and ecosystems.
BYEI has four signature programs that it implements annually including
Earth Champions Program (ECP) is the signature youth environmental stewardship program of BYEI designed to equip aspiring change-makers of Bangladesh with environmental knowledge and leadership capacity to be an agent of change for a just and prosperous Bangladesh.
National Earth Olympiad (NEO) is an education and knowledge movement to mainstream earth and environmental science education in Bangladesh. NEO aims to educate, inspire, and nurture future scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to generate necessary knowledge and provide thought leadership for a more just, fair and sustainable Bangladesh and world. Through a national level Olympiad competition that takes place across Bangladesh, NEO instills curiosity and develops consciousness about ongoing environmental concerns among the younger generation and nurtures their talents to help them become agents of positive change in the society.
e360 Exhibitions is a photography and art competition that aims to create awareness regarding the environmental crisis through exibhition of powerful images from professional and amateur photographers. Art has the power to inspire and provoke thoughts that can surface innovations and consolidation of opinions for taking urgent actions.
Earth Policy Dialogue (EPD) is a series of seminars, symposiums & conferences, bringing together promising young leaders and leading experts for intergenerational knowledge exchange. The goal is to develop ideas and solutions for ongoing and frontier environmental challenges.
Description
Overall Purpose:
The Communication Associate (CA) is responsible for designing, planning, and administering the public communication of BYEI. The CA will work closely with the Senior Program Associate to identify the communication requirements for different programs. The CA will work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director (ED) and the co-Executive Director (Co-ED) to ensure that the BYEI programs has strong visibility and publicity.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Support the design and validation of communication materials for social media post
Administer the social media handles of BYEI and strategically build visibility and public communication of the BYEI programs
Capture photos and videos to develop communication products for the BYEI programs
Support communication with key stakeholders by articulating strategic emails, concept note and program briefs
Support the program team with publicity and visibility of BYEI events
Support the Senior Program Associate in generating short reports along with photos and videos as evidence for Monitoring and Evaluation of BYEI programs
Ensure collection of photo consents and ethical obligation related to photography
Key Organizational Relationships:
Reports to the Executive Director
Coordinates and provides key organization support to Co-Executive Director
Job Requirements
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong communication skills, including photography and video editing
- Strong understanding of the social media dynamics
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter and good team player; Strong internal and external collaboration, diplomacy, representation and negotiation skills
- Highly motivated and capable of delivering high value under tight timelines
- Drive, rigor, lateral thinking and problem solution oriented
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator/Canva/Adobe Photoshop, PowerPoint skills

Other Requirements:
- Business Bangla and English, written and verbal is essential
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally
